MEdical technologistS (MULTIPLE OPENINGS)
Canonsburg General Hospital seeks Medical Technologists (Multiple Openings) to work in Canonsburg, PA, and to independently perform routine and highly complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens in one or more sections in the laboratory. Responsibilities include: (i) performing variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality information. Verifying analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and all linearity for test methods; (ii) operating, calibrating, checking, and maintaining instrumentation. Recognizing problems with quality control and test procedures, and taking appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information; (iii) serving as a consultant to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and other health care providers as needed. Participating in continuing education to ensure growth and development of the laboratory; (iv) maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations; (v) may collect and process patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within the expected time frame; and (vi) may mentor MT/MLT, phlebotomy students and new employees in laboratory testing, following system policies and procedures.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Medical Technology or a directly related field.
Must be able to work independently on afternoon and night shifts as well as possess an ICHP VisaScreen Certificate, if applicable.
Must also have American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
