Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Patient Registration Specialist in our healthcare organization based in New Haven, Connecticut. As a Patient Registration Specialist, your main function will be to manage patient check-ins and registrations, alongside maintaining accurate and up-to-date insurance information. Responsibilities: • Efficiently manage patient check-ins and registrations • Maintain a heavy schedule to ensure smooth workflow • Diligently collect, verify, and update patient insurance information • Document all interactions with internal staff, patients, insurance companies, and physicians • Assist patients during their visit, providing a high level of customer service • Use strong computer and communication skills to optimize patient experience • Handle high volume medical scheduling with precision and accuracy. Requirements • Previous experience in a healthcare, hospital, or social assistance setting is essential. • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively assist patients. • Proficiency in using various computer systems and software for patient registration. • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with high levels of confidentiality. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and empathy when dealing with patients. • Should have a basic understanding of medical terminology. • High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in healthcare administration is a plus. • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is desirable. • Bilingual candidates are preferred to assist a diverse patient population. • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if necessary. • Physical stamina to remain on feet for extended periods of time is necessary. • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
