About the Role
Responsible for assessing individual life insurance applications for Hong Kong market based on guidelines set for the issuance of AIA insurance policies.Job Responsibilities:Processing / Underwriting 90%
Accurately underwrite all products including medical underwriting by assessing the risks according to company guidelines and regulations.
Maintains a high level of accuracy (Quality) and always seek to improve individual quality scores with time.
Ensure meeting individual productivity target and turn-around-time, always seek to improve individual productivity scores with time.
Maintain a good personal record of training in line with the training framework of the company.
Shows keenness to develop technical competency by extending underwriting scope or limits.
Other Miscellaneous Tasks 10%Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor / manager in order to meet business requirements
Participate in departmental / organizational activities, programs and other tasks required.
Cross-trained with at least one process other than the core process, e.g. MCV underwriting, Macau underwriting, POS underwriting, Claims reunderwriting & etc.
Review & countersign cases from juniors who are on-job-training.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate, Professional Degree in any field, preferably Medical Science, Bioscience background, Insurance or Financial related qualifications.
Candidate must have at least 3 years experience in medical underwriting with authority of +75% extra mortality, or 5 years in nursing, medical lab or any relevant medical background.
Demonstrated proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is essential. A pass in Chinese at SPM level (or equivalent) is a mandatory requirement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with operational systems or workflow platforms is advantageous.
Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment with a demonstrated ability to work extended hours, as required by business needs. This role operates on a rotational roster basis. Depending on team assignment, workdays may fall on either Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday, with scheduling determined based on operational requirements.
The role is required to follow Hong Kong working calendar.
