Medical Underwriting Assistant

Worker Type: Employee

Provide medical technical support to the onshore staff nurses. Assist to the team leader by sending emails to clients and customer regarding queries of medical in nature and being the subject matter expert on the process he/she handling

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain product, system and process knowledge
• Ensure compliance with QBE policies, procedures and relevant legislations.
•Establish and maintain a good working relationship with stakeholders
• Resolve escalated complaints in a timely manner
•Assist in resolving escalations by summarizing clinical notes and documentation using knowledge of nursing process and ongoing treatment plan
• Prepare, update and proof read new and existing process desktop procedures (DTPs) and reports
• Manage workflow and ad-hoc requests including reporting performance dashboards and KPIs
• Processing daily transactions
• Provide methods to improve in overall technical expertise of CSOs
• Determine which of the submitted information goes into which transaction type-- deductible, payment etc

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse

• Proficiency in MS tools
• Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed process instructions
• Customer service focus

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Adaptable to change in a high changing environment
• Presentation skills

Preferred Experience

• With hospital medical/surgical experience as a nurse
• 2+ years of Underwriting experience preferred
• Experience in Medical UW is a must
• Preferably with BPO experience and shifting schedules

Preferred Knowledge

• Fundamental knowledge on customer service
• Basic knowledge on insurance preferred
• Fundamental knowledge Medical-Surgical background
