Position Purpose: Join Mercy Care Atlanta as a Patient Account Biller, where you will be pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate patient accounting for Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services and its affiliates. Your expertise will help maintain the financial integrity of our patient services, contributing to our mission of providing compassionate healthcare.
What You Will Do:
Ensure timely billing to insurance companies for services provided by Mercy Clinic and Mercy Clinic Downtown.
Post payments using Patient Accounting Software.
Stay updated on federal government billing requirements and provider stipulations.
Generate Aging Reports, follow up on overdue accounts and rejected claims.
Notify the Department Director or Manager as necessary regarding billing and claim processing.
Facilitate provider enrollment with physician staff.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of patient financial and medical records.
Perform General Ledger Accounting duties, including journal entry and workpaper preparation.
Maintain an organized filing system.
Complete additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in patient accounting.
Proficiency in Patient Accounting practices and insurance billing.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies.
Experience in physician offices with Medicare/Medicaid exposure is a plus.
