**Job Summary**
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) /Medication Aide (Med Aide) is accountable for providing our residents with quality care in a household environment, with resident directed care. The Med Aide administers prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Team Leader. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives. Travel and working 96 hours minimum a year are required.
**Education and/or Experience**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and be at least 18yrs. of age
+ Minimum 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
**Licensure/Certification/Registration**
+ Nursing Assistant Certification through state of South Dakota
+ Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Minnesota, Iowa or Nebraska may be required depending on the service area. If required, must obtain within 90 days of being placed in the position or of the requirement.
+ Medication Aide Certification through state of South Dakota
+ Medication Aide Certification in the State of Minnesota, Iowa or Nebraska may be required depending on the service area. If required, must obtain within 90 days of being placed in the position or of the requirement.
**Pay**
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
+ $19.00-$25.25 per hour
