**Meeting & Events Intern, Kohler Hospitality** _Work Mode: Onsite_ **Location: ** Kohler, WI **Opportunity** The Meeting & Events team intern position will be designed to help support weddings, social events, social day meetings and designated corporate events held within Kohler, WI as designated by Meeting & Events Management. The intern will have the opportunity to see all aspects of Event Operations including learning and assisting the Décor & Design team with event design and setup, floral, and banquet service execution. They will have potential exposure to participating in projects as needed. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES + Help serve as on-site contact during weddings, social events, social day meetings and designated corporate events. There is a heavy weekend component with wedding and social events for on-site coverage. + Shadow Wedding Sales Manager on site visits. + Shadow Sales Managers on corporate site visits. + Shadow Banquets to learn about banquet event execution. + Learn how to partner with Client to achieve resort spend above contracted obligation: F&B selections, additional activity selections, guestroom upgrades and promotion of pre/post guest stays. + Partner with Kohler Décor & Design Team and assist them with creation of documents to enhance events with upgraded linens, event space upgrades, custom branding opportunities, etc. + Partner with Kohler Décor & Design Team in creation of event design elements and coordinating organization of gathering needed items from warehouse and other storage locations. + Assist with event setup needs. + Attend weekly Banquet & Event Order (BEO) and Resume meetings. + Participate in departmental coverage as scheduled. + Learn how to develop detailed estimates for Client and internal accounting team. + Learn how to develop detailed wedding notes to outline all wedding details to share with Client. + Communicate up to the minute client revisions throughout the resort to promote the guest experience. + Shadow Pre and Post Conference Meetings with Client and internal team. + Create and execute special projects and assignments. **Skills/Requirements** + Must be enrolled at a college or university seeking a degree in Hospitality or Resort Management + Previous event planning experience is preferred + Must be 18 or older **_Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future._** _The hourly range for this position is $18.00.
