What You'll Do:

Review meeting request and conduct meeting qualification call with clientIdentify appropriate venues according to client/event needsUnderstand and utilize preferred suppliers programsAdvise and guide the client about suitable optionsInform about rejected venues (quality, availability…)Maintain contact with suppliers and manage option datesReminders to client on deadlinesBudget management of projectSecure meeting owner approval on budget and terms & conditions of suppliersNegotiate supplier rates and conditionsEnsure per project profitability through commission and feesCoordinate Inspection trip if needed and assistance if requiredSecure required data according to customer policies (POs…)Confirm/Cancel venues to suppliersUpdate Meetings & Events Finance and Project Management systems with all project informationProvide feedback to suppliers on cancelled venuesSecure accurate contracts from suppliers to be signed either by GBT or by client directlyRenegotiate rates and conditionsIssue deposit invoices to customerMake required payments to suppliersRaise commission invoices as requiredAttend supplier educational programs to ensure venue and destination knowledge is current

What We're Looking For:

Experience in hotel buying preferredProven negotiation skillsKnowledge of UK and global destinations requiredDomestic and international venue/hotel knowledge is a benefitOnline sourcing tool experience ie. CventOperations experience in hospitality industry or equivalent is a benefitPrior experience in maintaining client and supplier relationshipsPrior experience in effectively handling multiple projects/demandsKnowledge of program/event management and budget maintenanceProven aptitude for technology and/or software solutions and analytical skills required.Ability to travel by airplane, boat, rail and/or car.
