Process metallurgical support for rolling mill and supervision of shift personnel

Responsibilities Technical supervision with all of operations as it relates to product quality and process performanceInterface with other departments for managing product qualityExecute all trials in collaboration with other Metallurgists, Engineers and SupervisorsMaintain all quality systems (BSS, QCBD, CAR, MOC)Continuous process monitoring, analysis, and improvementAssisting Supervisors in reviewing and approving raw materials and suppliers

 

Qualifications

Required

B.S. degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering5 years of experience in steel production and/or applicationsSafety focusProven leadership, verbal & written communications, and presentation skillsStrong work ethic, self-motivated, positive outlook, team playerStrong orientation for continuous improvement and innovationProficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred

Work experience in Melt Shops, specifically with arc furnacesKnowledge of OSHA regulations and safety proceduresExperience operating an arc furnaceExperience using an oxygen lance, cutting torch, welder, and other hand toolsExperience working swing or rotating shift
