About the Team
The team you will be joining is the Microservice Platform team at Nutanix, located in San Jose, California. This team is dedicated to developing innovative container services and managing infrastructure as software. With a collaborative culture that emphasizes patience, feedback, and technical skill development, the team aims to foster an environment where members can grow, take ownership of projects, and contribute to the overall mission of delivering seamless cloud solutions for customers.
You will report to the Hiring Manager, who emphasizes collaboration and values problem-solving abilities within their leadership style. The manager encourages team members to communicate effectively and supports their development within a backend-focused work environment. The work setup for this role is hybrid in San Jose, with team members expected to be in the office three to four days a week.
This role does not require any travel, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality software and managing Kubernetes clusters from the San Jose office.
Your Role
Develop and implement new software for container services.Provision and manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters programmatically.Address new feature requirements and perform bug fixes.Participate in on-call rotations to resolve customer issues promptly.Collaborate with team members during technical interview processes.Enhance coding skills primarily in Python and Golang within a backend-focused environment.Contribute to infrastructure as software initiatives and team projects.Gradually take ownership of components and participate in larger end-to-end projects by the end of the first year.
What You Will Bring
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree or 1–2 years with a Master's degree.Strong coding skills, particularly in Python and Golang.Proficiency in managing Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers.Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.Ability to develop and manage software for container services.Experience in backend development and infrastructure as software.Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for customer issues.Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 133,600 and USD $ 200,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
