AARP’s Integrated Communications and Marketing (ICM) Group includes Membership, Content and Editorial, Customer Experience, External Relations, Brand Strategy and Strategic Communications. Across paid, earned, shared and owned channels, ICM manages AARP’s reputation, drives engagement and member growth, and showcases AARP’s mission and value through one, integrated voice. The Membership Marketing Manager acquires and reacquires members through direct response and drive to web efforts. Strategizes, designs and executes tests to improve response. Evaluates performance trends and test results to identify new opportunities to improve performance. Partners closely within the team and with key business partners to ensure coordination and smooth execution of tests and campaigns. Tracks and assesses campaign results and adjusts marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline marketing processes and to develop new procedures that support the business unit/department. Responsibilities Supports internal and/or external teams and clients by creating proposals, presentations, and other materials using product/program information, data, and media insights. Assists with planning, creation, and execution of various strategic marketing communications. Consults and collaborates with cross-functional teams, colleagues, and leadership to deliver effective programs and other client offerings that advance organizational goals. Monitors the competitive landscape and market trends to identify new opportunities for the organization to shape products, programs, and/or services most relevant to the target audience. Provides guidance on marketing best practices and campaign strategies to colleagues and/or external partners as necessary. Advises campaign stakeholders about next steps, opportunities, and risks based on best practices and lessons learned. Observes, reviews, and measures the campaign outcomes, proactively elevating lessons learned to key stakeholders. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred, along with 10+ years of experience in direct response marketing. Proficiency in analytics is essential, with hands-on experience using Adobe Marketing Cloud tools like Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target including A/B and multivariate testing, as well as experience with campaign reporting tools such as BI and Tableau. Demonstrated expertise in direct response and drive to digital marketing strategies, particularly in campaign execution, tracking, and reporting. Knowledge of various marketing channels, including direct mail, email marketing, and mass print media, is a must. AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
