MOEMS Engineer / Analyst (Co-op Student)

Overview

The candidate will participate in key activities in the development of optical MEMS (MOEMS) technology which will primarily include testing and data analysis of on-wafer device statistics and key device parameters as well as some simulation and modeling. This is a cross-functional role in a highly collaborative engineering team and the candidate will have the opportunity to work with optical, mechanical, process and test engineers as well as the MOEMS foundry.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist engineers with experiments, data collection, qualifications, and reporting.Work with engineers and technicians to resolve production problems and suggest improvements.Perform equipment set-up and possibly routine preventative maintenance of white light interferometers.Follow established work instructions and document production metrics throughout the fabrication process.Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, Quality System Policies, and FDA regulations.

Required Skills

The candidate will be hands-on with a knack for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems with a strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated who enjoys taking the initiative and driving projects to conclusionWorking towards mechanical, engineering Physics or Physics degree, or related subjectCombined critical thinking with empathetic and diplomatic communication. Demonstrated ability to form collaborative and cooperative working relationships in all interactionsAbility to work in ambiguous situations and define a path to resolutionAbility to work in a lab environment and work with leading-edge equipment and toolsExcellent written and oral communication skills, motivated team player, self-starter and detail-oriented
