MEMS Metrology Engineer
Job Description Candidate will assemble, operate, repair, and debug electro-optical automated test systems. They will be responsible for developing both individual test beds as well as the overall MEMS test capabilities for the team, supporting device integration with the larger sub-systems, and coordinating results and feedback on device performance to improve MEMS design. Experience with optomechanical best practices preferred. Candidate will be expected to operate in a highly independent environment, identify their own knowledge gaps, and learn pro-actively. Candidate will receive design of experiment and be expected to build test bed systems that meet experiment needs. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong background in laser systems and laboratory safety protocols. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or related field 3yrs experience operating automated test systems for electrical or optical hardware Novice/Intermediate proficiency using python, LabView, or MATLAB for instrument control Desire to work in a laboratory environment, collecting data and running experiments Has personally built an automated physics or manufacturing test system within the last 5 years Proven experience working in a laser lab environment In-depth knowledge of laser safety protocols and regulations Familiarity with laser systems, optics, and related equipment Familiarity with benchtop electrical test equipment Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication skills Basic understanding of data analysis and statistical methods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with laboratory maintenance Ability to work on-site in Redmond, WA 100% of the time. null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
