This role is a mid-level managerial position within Finance in MENAT region, acting as Lead role in the Regional Finance Assurance team working closely with the Head of Finance Non-Financial Risk (NFR), SOX and other key stakeholders including the Financial Controller, CFOs in the region and the Global Head of Finance Assurance to ensure a robust control environment is place and provide independent assurance over the control environment. The role holder will be accountable and responsible for the planning, testing/assurance of controls including those relevant for SOX, governance and reporting of the results for MENAT Finance. The job holder will be primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and strengthening the overall assurance activities and providing independent view on the effectiveness of the Risk Management and Control Environment in MENAT Finance.

The role holder will also play an important role into supporting the Head of Finance NFR in preparing and reviewing all reporting of assurance outcomes into various governance committees including the Finance Risk Control Management Meeting, Risk Management Meeting, Audit Committee and Risk Management Meetings in the region.

Duties Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage the overall assurance plan for control testing for MENAT Finance, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure there is adequate coverage and testing plans remains risk based.
• Implement and undertake the process walkthroughs and testing ensuring testing approach outcomes, sampling are adequately documented, and any findings are reported and monitored to closure.
• Implement a set of metrics and reporting to ensure management are kept updated periodically on all findings and monitoring of issues raised.
• Design and implement a robust testing plan for the Balance Sheet Substantiation process to ensure FIM requirements are met and robust reconciliation and substantiation is in place.
• Identify and perform thematic reviews for the high-risk processes or areas with potential weaknesses and socialize themes emerging from the reviews to prevent recurrence including validation of issue remediation.
• Act as a conduit for responding to control issues raised in Finance across the region and conduct ad-hoc control issue reviews on a short time frame to report back to senior stakeholders.
• Work actively with key stakeholders at senior level of the organization, build and maintain a strong communication network including Global Head of Finance Assurance, Risk Owners, CFOs, Financial Controller, Risk Stewards and Auditors (internal/external), to increase awareness of assurance outcomes, as well as ensuring assurance coverage remains dynamic and supports risk reduction.

Experience Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree is essential; Audit experience with accounting qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge on Operational risks, SOX 404 Internal Controls, COSO Framework and Guidelines.
• Proved experience leading assurance/audits, implementing and/or improving end-to-end processes controls and delivering complex projects.
• Good knowledge of regulatory environment in the financial services sector, understanding of Financial Accounting processes and core controls including reconciliation substantiation and good understanding of generic banking business, balance sheet and PL.
• Ability to recommend and support implementing effective controls which are sustainable, ability to translate high level guidance into practical application, conceptualise the operational impact of business change and provide guidance to stakeholders.
• Strong business writing skills and communication skills, with ability to provide structure and solution to complex/problematic areas, to challenge information presented, providing reasoned explanation to ensure that agreement is reached in a sustainable manner.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment, tight deadlines with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time.
• Good people skills, ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical dispersed teams and be able present and convey key messages.
