ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for Mental Health Director:
Coordinate, lead and participate in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patientsEvaluate patients in a variety of settingsPerform and document mental health evaluationsFacilitate patient treatment to include admission and discharge from the mental health unit, housing change requests, seclusion, suicide precautions, close observation, and observation level changesDSM-VCoach and collaborate with site mental health clinical staffEnsure all mental health clinicians are educatedWork cooperatively with all psychiatric providersAssist with recruiting efforts for mental health staff QualificationsQualifications for Mental Health Director:
Clinical Psychologist with a current, unrestricted license in CAMinimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a mental health care settingMinimum of 2 years’ experience in management and correctional healthcare preferredKnowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, basic principles of individual and group behavior, suicide risk assessment, crisis de-escalation techniquesWorking knowledge of psychotropic medicationsValid CPR card
