Job Description
**Job Summary:**
The Catholic Charities Day Programs Mental Health Practitioner is responsible to carry out the clinical program as outlined in the Treatment Plan for Day Students in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
**Major Job Responsibilities:**
+ Carries out skills counseling with students as outlined by a mental health professional.
+ Completes all documentation and communication within the established timelines and guidelines.
+ Maintains professional relationships with community resources and providers to collaborate with and refer students to as appropriate.
+ Participates in required program functions including staff meetings, supervisory sessions and Circle of Courage. Provides direct supervision to clients.
+ Initiates professional development by participating in internal and external training and development opportunities.
**Job Requirements:**
**Education:** High school diploma
**Job Related Experience:** Must meet the State of Minnesota requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner and have a minimum of 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to children with mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities; OR Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university; OR Have at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience as above and receive clinical supervision until the 4,000 total hours have been obtained.
**Additional Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:** Must be able to successfully pass a background check
