Job Overview:

The Mental Health Screener provides crisis assessments for adults and children in the psychiatric emergency room.

Qualifications:

Required:

MSW with a specialization in Mental Health, or MA in Mental Health disciplines One year post-master's experience in a psychiatric setting

Or:

BA in Mental Health disciplinesThree years full-time post-bachelor experience, 1 of which is in a crisis acute setting Clean driver's license as determined by the employer, and validated by the state MVA in which the employee resides

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Certification eligible as a Screener by the State of New Jersey Division of Mental Health and HospitalsMust obtain screening license through DMHAS within one year of hire

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift working, 12am-8amFull-time

Essential Functions:

Screen adults for involuntary hospitalizationDevelop treatment and disposition planning in the least restrictive setting, including wrap around DC supports if dischargedConsult and coordinate with internal and external team members and MDs to mitigate danger and ensure safetyProvide community based screening and crisis mobile outreach at affiliated emergency rooms and in the community for adults
