Job Overview:

The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.

Qualifications:

Required:

Master's Degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical fieldNJ Screener Certified, or eligible within 1 year of hire

Preferred:

2 years experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention/emergency services

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-TimeNight Shift40 hours per weekWeekend rotation required

Essential Functions:

Facilitates voluntary/involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and proceduresFully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely mannerProvides and completes all documentation records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and proceduresProvides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the communityBrings all unusual situation, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his/her designatePerforms all other duties as assigned
