Job Overview:
The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field requiredCertified New Jersey Mental Health Screener or immediately eligible within six months of hire requiredTwo years experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention/emergency servicesScheduling Requirements:

Brings all unusual situation, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his/her designateFacilitates voluntary/involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and proceduresFully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely mannerProvides and completes all documentation records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and proceduresProvides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the communityProvides weekend, evening, and holiday coverage depending on the program needsPerforms all other duties as assignedChoosing RWJBarnabas Health!
