Mental Health Specialist 

Kootenai Health is currently hiring a compassionate, caring, and attentive Mental Health Specialist to join our Behavioral Health – Crisis Intervention Services team.

About the Job:

As a Mental Health Specialist on our team, and under direct supervision, you will provide adult patient support and supervision in a treatment or educational milieu; and assist in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology, social work or related field required OR MHS Certification and 2 years related patient care experience required Crisis prevention training, or must acquire within 6 months of employment, required BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation

Working Conditions:

Must be able to maintain a sitting position Typical equipment used in an office job Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
