Our client is a leading multinational construction and engineering contractor, headquartered in the USA and operating across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. With a global workforce of over 9,000 and an annual turnover exceeding €6 billion, they specialise in delivering high-tech projects across key sectors, including data centres, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, photovoltaics, battery plants, and specialty chemicals. They provide a full turnkey service, covering design, construction, and handover, encompassing civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) works, mechanical and electrical (MEP) systems, and commissioning.
The need now exists for an experienced MEP Project Manager to manage operations on site including the design, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Oversee the planning, design, and execution of MEP systems for large-scale projects in coordination with architects, contractors, and engineers to ensure that all MEP components are integrated smoothly into the overall project.
Oversee project budgets related to MEP works, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle reviewing cost estimates, invoices, and change orders while maintaining profitability.
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that MEP activities are completed on time and aligned with overall project milestones addressing any delays or disruptions.
Lead a multidisciplinary team of MEP engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors providing technical direction and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Conduct regular inspections and reviews ensuring that all MEP installations meet quality standards, client expectations, and comply with local and international regulations.
Ensure that all MEP activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations promoting a safety-first culture.
Negotiate contracts and oversee the performance of all MEP-related suppliers and contractors.
Oversee the testing, commissioning, and final handover of MEP systems, ensuring efficiency and functionality.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all MEP-related matters providing regular updates to senior management regarding project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Lead site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering discussions, planning and coordination sessions, and handover meetings, ensuring that detailed records and action points are thoroughly documented and maintained.
Oversee the management of the mechanical and electrical teams, subcontractors, material deliveries, goods receipting, as well as the coordination of plant and equipment to ensure efficient project execution and resource allocation.
Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Extensive experience within construction with proven accomplishments in MEP project management in data centre and pharmaceutical projects.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and senior management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues related to MEP systems with proven ability to manage risks and provide effective solutions.
