Job Description
The MEP Construction Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of projects in strict accordance with plans, specifications, and local codes. This role involves overseeing direct labor, scheduling subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, and ensuring their work is completed within the allocated time.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate fieldwork to ensure it aligns with plans and specifications.Communicate any conflicts or revisions to the project team for resolution before executing work that deviates from approved plans.Establish and enforce job site quality control and safety programs to ensure a safe, clean, and high-quality work environment.Oversee direct labor and manage the scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, and vendors.Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications.Maintain daily logs of job site activities.Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.Manage multiple job sites simultaneously and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.Coordinate and preside over subcontractor meetings.Ensure the job site is kept clean and organized.Prepare and collect timesheets for internal and subcontractor labor.Participate in preplanning for future jobs and conduct evaluations of trade performance.Oversee project close-out reports and post-occupancy repair work.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience.Strong understanding of heating systems and thorough knowledge of construction trades.Proficiency in computer and smartphone applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Gmail, and WhatsApp.Ability to read and interpret floor plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers, employees, and management.Ability to organize and manage paperwork, including SDS and MSDS documentation, OSHA logs, submittals, and RFIs.Prior field experience in plumbing and heating.Additional Skills & Qualifications5-8+ years of experience (Ideal) - will entertain a 3-5 year candidate Minimum of a degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or Civil Engineering.Technical experience with control systems in Boiler/Chiller/HVAC industry.Experience with Bluebeam and MS Excel software.SST-62 Certification.Work Environment
Projects are located throughout the 5 boroughs and Westchester, with plans to expand further north.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00
