Role description:
The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of materials and workmanship related to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEPF) installations at our Westside project site B under Arcadis. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Role accountabilities:
1. Material Inspection:
- Conduct thorough inspections of MEPF materials upon delivery to the site to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of material documentation, including certifications, test reports, and manufacturer warranties.
- Coordinate with Document Controller to maintain comprehensive records of material inspections and related documentation.
- Sign-off the Material inspection form after inspection
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) team to implement and enforce quality control processes and procedures.
2. Work Inspection:
- Conduct regular inspections of MEPF works during various stages of construction to assess quality, workmanship, and compliance.
- Identify and report deviation defects, or non-conformities and work closely with contractors to address and rectify issues promptly.
- Sign-off the work inspection form after inspection
3. Establish partnerships with the Clients team working together for the benefit of the Project.
4. Review plans and other technical documents
5. Assist in the preparation of the Project Construction Risk Profile
6. Assist the project manager in creating and distributing the project schedule.
7. Monitor costs and project progress.
8. Maintain control of all project documentation
9. Assist in the preparation, updating and maintaining of the Project Directory, Risk Register and Project Execution Plan during the term of the Project.
10. Assist in the preparation and updating of safety report on a weekly / monthly basis.
11. Assist in the preparation and issuance of Construction Close Out Report
12. Checking drawings, review project work scope, drawings, and requirements for compliance to engineering design, materials, procurement, fabrication, and construction
13. Assist project team resolving any unexpected technical difficulties, and other problems that may arise.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical Engineering
• Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines • Self-motivated and proactive.
• Has 3 to 5 years of work experience in Construction Projects with MEP
• Preferably with experience in Hotel & Casino projects
• Can do basic Cost Estimates and Cost Monitoring
• Can do Project Monitoring and Risks Mitigation
• Knowledgeable in Quality Assurances in respect to Project Documentations
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
• Proficiency in programming and planning software (e.g., MS project, Autocad, Microsoft Office) required.
• Health and Safety Background is an advantage
