Role Purpose
The Merchandise Manager will assume overall responsibility for the growth and profitability of a specific category, whilst managing a team of direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership of the category teamSet strategic direction for the categoryDeliver business & customer objectivesDevelop and implement category plansIdentify market/product opportunitiesDevelop annual Item Class budgetsGrow sales & GP (achieve annual budget no’s)In partnership with GPC Pricing, develop and implement category pricing strategyDeliver supplier income targetsIntroduce X% of new products p.a.Achieve Inventory targetsConduct range reviewsMaximize Digital channel opportunities (B2C/B2B)Develop and implement annual promotional plans (retail & trade)Develop and maintain supplier relationships including regular supplier QBRsManage category communicationGrow Own Brand salesIdentify and execute Trading Terms improvements with procurement teamExecute RFP/RFQ plans with procurement teamLead & develop Trans-Tasman teamCreate a safe working environmentWork with Replenishment team to ensure availability at DC and store level meet/exceed agreed goalsDevelop methodologies for calculating and tracking the market size and share of the categoriesLooking after you:
