Summary:
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for building merchandise plans, creating product forecasts and maintaining projections for an entire product category. This position will be responsible for the management of inventory levels and the flow of goods for all Enterprise HomeStores to achieve all sales and inventory goals. This position will identify business risks and opportunities to maximize results for Enterprise HomeStores while working closely with cross-functional partners to coordinate the flow of information in a timely manner to deliver by deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Ensure financial accountability to the merchandising strategy for an assigned category.Collaborate with the merchant, pricing and planning partners to develop yearly sales, margin and product turn plans; recommend divisional and departmental sales growth to drive business strategies.Maintain in-season product plans and forecast; collaborate with team to execute top-down and bottom-up roles of individual SKUs and styles.Approve and recommend inventory levels for promotional products.Develop, approve and execute product exit strategies.Manage and approve the replenishment strategy.Provide direction to the team in translating SKU plans, distribution strategies, etc.Financially execute and approve the advertising strategy; communicate weekly advertised products and forecast quantities to the planning team.Monitor store allocations by product category.Build a collaborative team relationship with merchant, pricing and manufacturer counterparts.Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.Audit, maintain and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods and materials.Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.Who Are We?
