About the role:
With Business Unit, Category and Department accountability, this role will lead the Merchandise Planners to achieve the strategic and financial objectives.
This will be achieved with a clear focus on identifying opportunities and strategies to maximise sales, profit, and productivity improvements by implementing and maintaining a collaborative, innovative and results orientated environment.
What's involved:
Collaborate across Business Units to align on broader strategies
Ensure alignment of merchandise planning principles and approach across all Business Units
Accountable for Business unit sales, profit, and inventory plans, from corporate planning, budgeting and forecasts which serve as strategic and trading plan direction
Drive customer centric and high performing assortment plans, through data driven insights and analysis
Drive embedment of customer and commercial insights into ranging decisions
Drive a program of continuous improvement that supports best practice opportunities to lower costs and fuel the productivity cycle to delivery more customer value
Who we’re looking for:
Our ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead and develop a team of Merchandise Planners, driving them to achieve customer, business, and functional objectives.
You will will collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to drive and implement the Category strategy.
Success in this role will be the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and maintaining high performance under pressure.
You’ll need:
Strong financial and commercial business acumen
Understanding of critical path elements and their impact on delivery
Ability to build and manage key stakeholder relationships.
Proven leadership experience – (preferred 5 years minimum) relevant retail experience in leading and developing a team
