Position Summary:

The Merchandising Process Analyst (West Coast) is responsible for maximizing profit by minimizing order processing cost through optimal order management, pack configuration, and effective use of technology and operational processes. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Point of Contact for Order Process

Develop, oversee and deliver order writing and process training for All Buyer new hires and merchants new-to-assignmentServe as order writing expert and resolve all merchant order writing issuesCollaborate with vendors as order process expert and resolve issues related to order documentationEstablish and document vendor order writing exception processesDocument and promote best practices for managing and order writing for DC Special ProcessesDrives order process for sensitive vendors – newly on-boarded and ongoing

Order Process liaison between Merchants and Technical teams

Facilitate communication between merchants and technical teams including but not limited to EDI, GAD, MAD, BI with goal to develop efficient, seamless solutions for order management to reduce merchant workload and avoid vendor confusionPartner with Vendor Relations to problem solve issues with existing or new vendors related to purchase order transmission through EDICollaborate with cross functional partners including MIO, Supply Chain, Vendor Relations, Planning and Allocations and Merchants to identify opportunities to streamline Burlington order process and improve speed to store while protecting profit margin

Control Supply Chain Value Added Activities through Order Management

Analyze merchant order writing performance, provide coaching and training recommendations to merchant managementReduce cost and time to process through right sizing pack configurations, and utilizing pack for store, and complex prepack optionsDrive decisions on packing and sizing for upfront orders through collaboration with vendors, buyers, planners, supply chain.Identify reporting needs to provide visibility of opportunities and results to Merchants, Supply Chain, and Merchant Management

Collaborative Relationships

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teamsBuild strong partnerships with Merchants, and Supply Chain.Develop strong relationships with Merchandising Operations teams; effectively able to negotiate order process and packing solutions while minimizing handling costsKeep individual, division, and total company goals in mind when making decisions.Demonstrate and utilize strong communication skills in interactions with Burlington Associates.

Scope and Impact:

The Merchandise Process Analyst will be the primary point of contact for merchant operational questions and to resolve all order writing questions and concerns raised by the merchants and vendors.The Merchandise Process Analyst is responsible for driving the product flow initiative to maximize profit by reducing cost and time of processing goods.The Merchandise Process Analyst will have frequent interaction with DMMs, Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Vendors, Supply Chain, Merchandising Operations managers.

Education:

4 year College degree or equivalent work experience

Experience:

2-3 years of experience in merchandisingExperience with Merchandise systems is preferred.

Skills and Abilities: 

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)Strong analytical skillsExcellent organization skills and detail-orientation with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time.Ability to manage through conflict and problem resolution.Strong computer skills with a thorough knowledge base of Microsoft Excel.Ability to identify and apply systems solutions to business problems.Ability to work independentlyAbility to adapt to changes.
