Merchandising Solutions and Strategy Specialist 

The Merchandising Solutions and Strategy Specialist will lead the overall management and execution of merchandising strategies, plans, and activities within their assigned region, covering both the RMC and RRP categories. This role will focus on implementing in-store execution solutions and guidelines that are region and channel-specific (GT, NKA, LKA, Non-traditional, and brand-campaign specific). The incumbent will be responsible for implementing planograms, merchandising strategies, guidelines, and campaigns. The role will also supervise budget allocation, handle phasing, and ensure close coordination with the Field Marketing team, ensuring alignment with CBU or Group strategies.

 

As the Merchandising Solutions and Strategy Specialist in the area of  Marketing you will: 

 

Third-Party Merchandising Management: Lead the operations of third-party merchandising agencies to ensure programs are completed time and in full, based on approved merchandising programs. Develop and monitor critical metrics for trade execution improvement. Create dashboards and reports for progressive execution, materials deployment, and weekly inventory of POSM. Analyze data related to availability, driven activities, and price movements to develop actionable insights.

Communication and Planning: Develop innovative communication materials by brand and channel. Build and maintain the Merchandising POSM census plan for production forecasts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Brand, Procurement, Finance) from planning to execution.

Budget Management: Supervise the merchandising budget allocation for all related activities. Process purchase requests (PR), purchase orders (PO), and ensure timely and accurate facilitation of good receipts (GR).

Standards and Execution: Collaborate with the Merchandising Strategy and Solutions Manager to develop and implement regional and national merchandising standards. Align with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency.

Field and Customer Visits: Recommend optimal timing, distribution levels, and installation of POSM materials. Conduct regular field and customer visits to monitor market trends, channel dynamics, competitor practices, and evaluate field force execution. Prepare summary reports post-visit, highlighting opportunities related to JTI execution and competitor activities.

Compliance and Policies: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and JTI’s J-SOX controls. Follow all internal company procedures and working instructions.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other ad hoc tasks that may arise due to changes in brand or driven dynamics within the assigned region.

 

Requirements: 

Education: College graduate or equivalent experience Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in FMCG or a large multinational company, particularly in a Marketing & Sales role. Experience in handling trade activations. Skills: Solid understanding of merchandising, project management, budget management, and execution planning. Results-oriented with a high level of competency. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications. Fluency in both written and spoken English.
