Our Merchant team is seeking a talented, versatile Merchant to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate command of assortment planning, strategic pricing, competitive market analysis, exceptional analytical skills, and a track record of success in driving positive and continuous improvement within the organization.
In This Role\nDevelop and execute brand assortment plans in partnership with Merchandising Leadership and Product Development for assigned categories \nDrive sales growth by identifying assortment gaps and analyzing market trends \nConduct competitive market analysis to inform assortment decisions and enhance product positioning \nPartner with Planning on new item forecasting, markdown strategies, and inventory management \nSupport pricing decisions with a strong understanding of product margin strategies \nProvide detailed product performance reporting and actionable insights to leadership \nFoster strong partnerships with Product Development and Planning \nActively contribute to departmental and category initiatives to support growth \nMonitor and respond to evolving market trends and performance data to identify growth opportunities \nMaintain accurate product and pricing data for assigned categories \nOther duties as assigned by Management\nUphold our Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands team: \nBe open and honest \nReach for excellence \nAct with responsibility \nValue the whole person \nEnjoy the journey\n\n\n
The Ideal Person\n4+ years of experience in retail planning, buying, or equivalent analytical roles (furniture industry experience is preferred)\nBachelor’s Degree in Merchandising or related field\nStrong background in pricing strategy and margin optimization \nFamiliarity with inventory management, demand planning, and related metrics \nExperience with merchandising tools, reporting, and data analysis \nProficiency in project management skills and ability to maintain data integrity while managing multiple priorities \nStrong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel \nStrategic thinker with the ability to align category plans with long-term business goals \nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and goal\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences \nProven success in managing product assortments and driving sales \nHighly organized and detail-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced environment \nAdaptable, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to changing market needs \nStrong critical thinking skills to address challenges and find innovative solutions\nStrong understanding of customer insights and market trends to drive product decisions \n
