Purpose of RoleUnder Armour is seeking a Merchant to lead our Women’s & Youth Apparel business for our owned Brand House stores. This teammate would be joining a passionate, creative and results-oriented team focused on growing DTC business and store fleet.
As a Merchant, this teammate will be responsible for anticipating our Athlete’s needs, understanding the market landscape, and building an assortment and segmentation strategy for the Brand House channel to best represent the Brand. A successful Merchant will work in partnership with Global and Regional partners to ensure complete execution of our Seasonal and Long Range strategies.
• Define the product assortment strategy for America’s Brand House channel connected to Brand Vision and Strategic priorities.
• Build seasonal assortments that identify the optimal product mix (Right product, Right place, Right price & Right time).
• Understand & define Athletes needs to create powerful merchandising plans that drive profitable sales and support the brand position.
• Lead the Go To Market process, as the POD Champion, in partnership with Planning, Marketing and Visual Merchandising to build our Seasonal Plan.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Planning and Marketing to Ensure price, promotional strategies and marketing support the financial plan of the channel.
• Align and partner with Global Partners to drive hero marketed stories and identify future opportunities.
• Own hindsight reporting each week and seasonally, both qualitative and quantitative, into actionable follow-up for cross-functional partner and future strategies, assortments and decisions.
• Analyze sales trends and competitive landscape and make recommendations for strategic action and segmentation.
• Regularly visit and understand local markets to develop expertise in consumer purchase behavior to continuously improve our Focused Performer experience.
• Lead Brand Chase initiatives to bring local and athlete driven product to floor on condensed calendars.
• Own Trasix data (PLM database): updated weekly to feed cross functional documents and business flow.
• Develop and Build our Team for future opportunities.
• Strong communication skills with ability to brief product strategies verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates strong cross functional collaborative skills in working across matrixed orgs.
• Communicate effectively and influence partners.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
• Strong balance of analytical and trend forward skills to inform decision making process.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in Product Management or Merchandising (Merch, VM or Planning) positions
• Experience in a well-regarded consumer products company
• Have experience with a variety of go-to-market models (direct to consumer, wholesale, retail, etc.)
• Industry experience in consumer products
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5-10%)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with medium to advanced Excel knowledge.
Base Compensation
$97,297.00 - $133,783.10 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
