Merchant Services Specialist

TouchNet, a Global Payments company, is seeking the ultimate team player to join our Sales Operations team. We are searching for a detail-oriented individual who can successfully collaborate with both our Sales and Business Development teams focused on Merchant Services. In this role, you will offer internal support to colleagues via merchant applications, will be a liaison to Underwriting, and will collaborate with customers in the higher education industry. This position will work closely with Sales, Business Development, Underwriting, Legal, Implementation and Accounting. We are looking for an individual that is driven, helpful, positive, collaborative and has a ‘getting it done and doing it right’ attitude.

The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset and should enjoy learning new things, improving processes, and evolving their skillset. They should have a positive attitude, be easy to collaborate with, and foster growing relationships with other internal teams. This position will have direct access to current processes and documentation and will receive necessary product and Salesforce (SFDC) training. The Merchant Services Specialist will also engage with various departments and levels within the TouchNet organization; including the Senior Leadership team.

In this position, you will make immediate contributions to the organization. Job duties/responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

Understand the higher-education industry, including knowledge of TouchNet’s customer and prospect landscape

Learn ‘card brand’ program information (ie Visa, Discover, Mastercard, etc.) as well as rules, regulations, & merchant services best practices

Serve as internal merchant application lead; offer working sessions, MPA package reviews, and assist with necessary updates/corrections on MPA forms before submitting to Underwriting

Assess internal processes to maximize efficiencies and make improvements to the current procedures

Collaborate in a positive manner that showcases ultimate teamwork and partnership 

Utilize documentation and support guides to help our Sales Team and Customers better understand the merchant application process

Communicate, partner and collaborate effectively within Sales, Sales Operations, and various other internal teams

Use SFDC to review merchant services pipeline, sales dashboards and update Opportunities/Quotes as needed

Cross-train with other team members to develop cross-functional knowledge and experience within the Sales Operations group

Showcase best practices in daily activities, to be efficient, collaborative and drive success


Education and Qualifications:

 Ability to work in our Lenexa, KS office (3 days per week)

 Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, finance, communications or a related field

2 years related experience that demonstrates technical-aptitude, attention to detail, and complex administration.

 Exemplify proactive and self-starter attitude with a detail-focused skillset

 Possess confidence on the phone and good written skills for internal and external communications

 Intelligent, motivated and competitive - understands ‘getting it done and doing it right’

 Ability to work in a team environment to partner and effectively communicate with all levels of stakeholders

 Capacity for handling a wide variety of tasks on a daily basis while staying flexible and helpful

Exposure to fin-tech, with knowledge of card brands or payments preferred.

SalesForce experience preferred.
