The Chicago Investment Banking office of Robert W. Baird is seeking to fill a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Market Analytics Specialist position. Baird’s M&A Group tracks the state of the M&A and capital markets while analyzing M&A activity and trends across geographic markets. These insights are published in reports targeted at private and public companies, lawyers, accountants, and private equity investors. The group also regularly produces a wide range of reports that review market trends and M&A activity in various industry sectors. The goal of Baird’s M&A Group is to raise the visibility of Robert W. Baird as an expert participant within the M&A market, increase the firm’s media exposure, and assist industry bankers in corporate presentations and relationships. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of M&A Research and provide assistance to other investment banking industry and product teams. The Specialist will be responsible for compiling and analyzing data, assisting in the publication of various internal and external reports, and preparing presentations.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Mergers & Acquisitions Market Analytics Specialist.

As a Mergers & Acquisitions Market Analytics Specialist, you will:

Work closely with the Director of M&A Research and provide assistance to other investment banking industry/product teams

Track and analyze internal Baird Global Investment Banking M&A process and deal statistics

Utilize various data providers to compile and analyze broader market M&A data and trends

Assist in the preparation and publication of various internal and external reports and presentations

What we look for:

Bachelor’s degree; concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field preferred

Highly analytical and possess the ability to write in a clear, concise, business manner as well as have good presentation and organization skills

1-2 of professional work experience in a related field required

Must have a solid background in accounting and finance, strong computer skills, and be highly proficient in Excel spreadsheet analysis, graphing, and PowerPoint

Proficiency with databases such as Capital IQ, Dealogic and Bloomberg is preferred

Familiarity with Power BI software a plus
