The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Mergers and Acquisitions Counsel. In this role, you will assist with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions, and engage collaboratively to enable the business as a subject matter expert providing advice and legal counsel. To thrive in this role, you must be detail-oriented, a collaborative team player with strong initiative, have a keen business sense and driven work ethic, and hold yourself to a high personal standard of accountability.

How You'll Make a Difference

Work with third parties to negotiate the terms of acquisitions.Draft and review letters of intent, asset purchase agreements, and leases.Assist with due diligence and closings.Facilitate processes and procedures to optimize productivity and keep the team organized.Support the integration of acquired assets.Collaborate with subject matter experts and other departments.Assist with other special projects as necessary.

What You'll Need to Succeed

U.S. State Bar active member in good standingJD degree from an accredited universityMinimum of three years practicing law, preferably in a national or regional law firmWorking expertise in the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) process from beginning to post-closing issuesExperience and familiarity with commercial leases and commercial/corporate lawResourcefulness in seeking out and finding accurate and relevant informationMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
