Koniag IT Systems, a subsidiary of Koniag Management Solutions, is seeking a reliable and efficient Messenger Courier (SCLS) to join our team. This role is responsible for the timely and secure delivery of documents, packages, and other materials within and between our facilities, as well as to external locations. The ideal candidate should possess excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the items being transported.
**Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:**
**The Messenger Courier will be responsible for:**
+ Collecting and delivering documents, packages, and other materials within and between Koniag IT Systems facilities, as well as to external locations, such as government offices, partner organizations, and client sites.
+ Ensuring the secure and timely transportation of sensitive and confidential materials by adhering to established protocols and procedures.
+ Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all items received, transported, and delivered, including tracking numbers, delivery times, and recipient signatures.
+ Coordinating and planning efficient delivery routes to optimize time and resource utilization.
+ Providing exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or inquiries from recipients in a professional and courteous manner.
+ Assisting with general office tasks, such as sorting and distributing incoming mail and packages, as needed.
+ Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to the transportation and handling of materials.
+ Maintaining the cleanliness and proper operation of the assigned vehicle, ensuring regular maintenance and reporting any issues or concerns.
**Requirements**
**Education:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust
**Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
+ Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in a courier, delivery, or transportation-related role.
+ Deliver messages, documents, packages and mail to various business concerns or governmental agencies.
+ Perform the following: miscellaneous errands, such as carrying mail within the base and sorting or opening incoming and outgoing mail, obtain receipts for articles delivered and keep a log of items received and delivered, or deliver items to offices and departments within an establishment.
+ Use a bicycle, golf cart, or motorcycle to perform duties.
+ Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines for deliveries.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and documenting items being transported.
+ Familiarity with local roads, routes, and traffic patterns to ensure efficient navigation.
+ Ability to follow strict security protocols and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive materials.
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deliveries.
+ Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with recipients and colleagues.
+ Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy packages or materials safely.
+ Adherence to all applicable traffic laws and safe driving practices.
**Desired Skills and Competencies:**
+ Experience working in a government or military environment, with knowledge of relevant security protocols and procedures.
+ Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
+ Basic computer skills for maintaining delivery records and documentation.
+ Knowledge of safety protocols for handling and transporting hazardous or sensitive materials.
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances or unexpected situations.
+ Proficiency in additional languages, which may be beneficial when interacting with diverse recipients.
**Working Environment & Conditions**
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
