Job Title: Metabolism Research Associate
Job Description
Join our team as a Metabolism Research Associate, where you will play a crucial role in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics area of drug development. You will conduct in vitro studies to understand how drugs are metabolized and behave in the body. This is a great opportunity to contribute to drug development and grow within a research role.
Responsibilities
+ Work with biological samples including plasma, blood, urine, and feces, both from animals and humans.
+ Support the in-life team and process samples using basic wet chemistry techniques such as pipetting, cell counting, and centrifuging.
+ Operate LC-MS instrumentation, perform extractions, and run your own samples.
+ Maintain and grow cell lines to prepare for assays, focusing on cell culture.
+ Conduct studies from start to finish using cell lines, blood, or plasma, handling the entire process in test tubes.
+ Seed cells onto assay plates and harvest plates.
+ Run extractions and utilize analytical techniques such as plate readers and LC-MS.
Required Qualifications
+ Experience with biochemistry, mass spectroscopy, liquid chromatography, and LC-MS.
+ B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related Life Science degree with 5-6 years of experience running LC-MS, or a Masters degree with 3-4 years of experience running LC-MS, or a Ph.D. with 3-4 years of experience running LC-MS (academia experience is acceptable).
+ 3-4 years of sterile technique experience.
+ Accurate pipetting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Any in vitro experience is a plus.
+ PCR experience is a plus, with training available.
+ Scientific mindset, able to work with varying test articles and willing to grow and expand in the area.
+ Experience with Thermo Scientific Q Exactive (QE) series mass spectrometers is nice to have.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00
