Job Descriptions: GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Assist in performing straightforward operations including panel preparation, sand blasting and metal spraying. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Receive verbal/written instructions on parts/panels to be cleaned/sprayed. + Remove adhesive from bonded panels using grinders and sanders. + Mask and cover panel sections in preparation for spraying. + Assist in the touch up of improperly sprayed panels/pieces. + Change oxygen acetylene bottles as necessary. + Move material, parts, and assemblies; load and unload; clean and sweep; help operators and assemblers to lift, position and handle material; other assigned tasks as necessary. Other Job Functions + Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Experience: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: + Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards. + Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors. + Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary. + Ability to adhere to workplace rules. + Ability to communicate clearly with others, (verbally and in written form). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + High School Diploma or equivalent. + 6 months experience in a shop environment. + Basic computer skills required. + Must pass Pulmonary Function Test. + Must be able to operate a hand truck. + Familiarity with the following machines: Sand Blasting, metal sprayer, hood & filter. WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: + Shop Floor environment. + Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. + Ability to perform repetitive motion (rotating wrists, keyboarding, using small/large tools). + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. + Ability to tolerate constant noise (i.e.: machine motors). + Ability to work safely in the presence of hazardous chemicals and hazardous conditions. + Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
