Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Finisher to join the team in a steel shop environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in various metal grinding, cutting, measuring, loading and unloading techniques and possess a keen eye for detail.

ResponsibilitiesOperate grinders, saws, and other metal fabrication equipment to finish metal products so they can be coated/plated.Loading steel, unloading steel, cutting and measuring each piece.Assemble components using hand and power tools.Conduct carpentry tasks as required.Measure and inspect parts using micrometers and calipers to ensure quality.Perform quality assurance and quality inspection duties.Essential SkillsMetal fabricationProficiency in assembly using hand and power toolsConstruction and/or mechanical skills.Ability to use precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.Additional Skills & QualificationsDetail-oriented mindset.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is a small, older machine shop that can be dirty and hot. The team values hard work and camaraderie, creating a family-like atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN with the duration of the contract being 4 months, then get hired in permanently.

Starting Pay: $18-$22/hr, depending on experience

Shift: 1st

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Weekly Hours: 40-45, maybe up to 50 on occasions

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
