Metal Recycling Sorter

Shift: FIRST , Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm)

* MANDATORY OVERTIME AS NEEDED on SATURDAYS (7:30am-12pm)

Pay Rate: $18.00hr+ Depending on Experience

About the position

The Scale Operator position involves managing the weighing and tracking of materials in a metal recycling environment. The role is essential for ensuring accurate documentation and efficient operations, contributing to the company's growth and success. The operator will work in a fast-paced setting, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to perform manual labor while adhering to safety and operational procedures.

ResponsibilitiesKeep track of the ticket materials and properly identify vehicles and personnel.Request required legal documentation from customers.Assess and accurately weigh material orders and issue supplies for visitors and customers entering the yard.Direct weight materials, both inbound and outbound, into the processing area.Maintain records of inventory location and keep inventory organized.Perform manual labor, including picking up spilled material and assisting in other areas of production.Adhere to all ISO procedures and work instructions.Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures for continuous improvement.Perform daily housekeeping duties in the immediate work area.Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and experience, and communicate with others.Complete other duties as assigned.


Work Experience
RequirementsAbility to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.Experience with heavy lifting.Basic computer skills.Dependability in attendance and work completion.Flexibility to meet business needs.Ability to learn quickly and multitask.Decision-making abilities with excellent customer service skills in verbal and written communication.Nice-to-havesBilingual is a plus.Scrap Metal/Waste Recycling experience preferred (not mandatory).
