Metal Shop Foreman
**Job Title: Metal Shop Foreman** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead our operations in our metal fabrication shop in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of machinery, including CNC turret punch presses, lasers, press brakes, and automation systems, ensuring optimal production, maintenance, and operational efficiency. **Responsibilities** + Supervise daily shop operations, manage staff schedules, and lead a team of fabricators, welders, and machine operators. + Ensure all equipment is operated correctly, maintained regularly, and troubleshooted as needed to minimize downtime. + Implement and manage quality control procedures to ensure all products meet specification standards. + Enforce safety regulations, conduct safety training, and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA standards. + Coordinate with project managers to plan production schedules, manage workflow, and ensure timely completion of orders. + Train new and existing employees on equipment operation, safety practices, and quality standards. + Monitor supplies and equipment inventory, ordering necessary materials to prevent production delays. + Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address any issues related to employee performance or workplace culture. + Address and resolve operational challenges, including machine malfunctions or workflow bottlenecks. + Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, and employee training. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a metal fabrication environment. + Proficient in the use and maintenance of CNC equipment. + Knowledge in automation systems for metal fabrication. + Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. + High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree or higher in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a noisy, industrial environment. + Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with complex machinery and production processes. + Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming and ERP systems for production management. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Certifications in welding, CNC operation, or related technical areas are advantageous. + Experience with sheet metal fabrication, supervision, CNC operation, and welding. + Proficiency in blueprint reading and management skills. + Experience in an industrial environment and knowledge of CAD software and CAM programming. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy working in a very nice and clean environment. The shop environment is very clean and well lit, with updated and top-of-the-line machines. It is not a loud environment. Steel and composite shoes, as well as safety glasses, are required while operating. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
