Job Summary/Description:

KFDA in Amarillo, Texas is looking for a Meteorologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a working news station and must be able to produce a dynamic, compelling forecast. This candidate will also be a critical part of our large storm-chasing team.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Produce and present clear, accurate, and engaging forecasts for the Amarillo market.
* Handle multiple weather forecasting platforms including broadcast and digital.
* Contribute content for digital platforms including OTT, station website, Apps, and social media.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Knowledge of WSI weather systems helpful
* Some on-air experience, either professionally or in college
* Certification and a meteorology or atmospheric sciences degree are preferred
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to work long hours/overtime, weekends, or evenings as needed for coverage
