Job Summary/Description:

Atlanta News First is looking for the right person to join Atlanta’s Certified Most Accurate First Alert Weather team. We have the largest team of meteorologists in the Southeast delivering First Alert Weather to our community on all platforms, all the time. If you are passionate about giving people accurate, important weather information to help them plan their day and stay safe, keep reading!

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Produce and present compelling First Alert weather content for all platforms (broadcast, digital, streaming, social)
- Produce weather segments for other meteorologists on the team, and provide support during severe weather coverage
- Work closely with digital and weather teams to create and execute an aggressive First Alert Weather strategy on digital, streaming, and social platforms
- Produce and present compelling First Alert traffic content as needed
- Report live in the field on weather and community events
- This is a weekend position responsible for all platforms on weekends. Weekday responsibilities will vary, with a significant focus on weather production and digital/ streaming presentation. Fill in on broadcast for M-F meteorologists as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- B.S. degree in meteorology/earth sciences or an equivalent combination of education and meteorology experience
- AMS and NWS seals strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience as a broadcast meteorologist
- Major market experience preferred
- Experience with The Weather Company weather systems (formally WSI) required
- Experienced with Baron weather products preferred
- Experience with traffic on The Weather Company weather systems preferred
- Scheduling flexibility required
-Must provide a link to recent examples including (if available):
      o Breaking/ severe weather coverage
      o Main weather segment on a "normal" day
      o Digital weather presentation
      o Social media weather presentation
      o Streaming weather segment
      o Live reporting in the field
