As a Meter Electrician C, you will install and maintain self-contained electric meters energized up to 240 volts in the shop and on customer premises. **Job Description** **What you’ll do:** + Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing. + Install, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect meters. + Test single-phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meters for proper operation and accuracy. + Program meters. + Perform Credit and Collections related to order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment. + Investigate irregular usage. + Investigate energy diversion. + Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures. + Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment. + Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports. + Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms. **What we’re looking for in a successful candidate:** + Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company's training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations. + Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends. + Work late shifts as needed. + Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner. + Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position. + Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the public in a courteous and appropriate manner. + Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the public. + Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct. + Report hazards and abnormal conditions. + Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees. + There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Associate’s degree in electrical/electronic technology + No work experience required. + Valid State Driver's License **What you’ll get:** + In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees. \#AEPIM \#AEP **Compensation Data** **Compensation Grade:** U022-150 **Compensation Range:** $29.39-31.03 USD The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
