General Purpose:
Meter Technicians work under the direction of Meter Foremen, Meter Supervisors and Meter Operations Manager and performs physical activities in support of meter maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Meets client and operating company standards related to meter work in accordance with our core value Responsible for checking the meter’s communication with the utility Performs change-out of existing ERT modules Able to update accurate records including daily work logs and installation record Able to access meter locations at Residential and Commercial premises Cleans and prepares worksites to eliminate possible hazard Monitors and maintains tools and equipment for proper use, storage, and upkeep Completes all work in an organized, timely manner, within standard operating procedure Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards and communicates abnormal working conditions to appropriate parties Assists crew leaders in construction/ reconstruction and maintenance work providing meter support Works safely around customer houses and private property, backhoes, excavators, and directional drill Travel is required up to 10% of timeSuccess Factors:
Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times during a work shift Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports Willingness and ability to learn additional skillsExperience and Education:
Utility field experience is preferred Previous experience working with underground or overhead utilities is preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basisAdditional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required. Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.Notes:
