Fugro has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic Intern to join our Metocean Consultancy team based in our Kuala Lumpur office. This role is ideal for individuals eager to analyse metocean datasets and gain valuable insights into marine environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support the processing and analyses a variety of metocean data from instrument locations, ranging from offshore oil and gas infrastructure to metocean buoys on future offshore wind farm sites;Assist in interpreting and undertaking detailed statistical analyses of the modelled and measured metocean datasets;Performing work assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring an application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasksReport preparation and writing;Complete training on assigned tasks.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Physical Oceanography, Marine Science, Environmental Science, or a related marine field.Knowledge of statistical analyses of metocean parameters;Knowledge of basic oceanic and atmospheric physics;Proficiency in using and writing programming scripts in MATLAB and Python;Ability to work independently and as part of a team.A minimum of twelve (12) continuous weeks of availability for the internship.

Training & development

As a Fugro Intern, you will have the opportunity to enhance your metocean analysis skills through practical experience in Site Characterization. Successful candidates will receive training through on-the-job assignments, utilizing the technical skills acquired in university. Assigned projects will develop interns both technically and professionally. Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor to provide guidance and support throughout the internship, ensuring a valuable and enriching experience.
