The Metrologist will be responsible for the qualification, validation, maintenance, and calibration of all laboratory instruments in Analytical Research & Development, Analytical Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Package Development, Product Development, Quality Assurance as well as the TOC instrumentation in Plant I, Plant II, Plant III, Plant IV, and the PD Building. **Main Responsibilities:** + Schedule and issue work orders for in-house standards and compendial testing. Track the results. + Create, track, and maintain validation documentation for all laboratory instrumentation. + Maintain Blue Mountain software for covered items. + Update or write methods for calibration, maintenance, or instrument use. + Troubleshoot instrumentation when breakdowns occur. + Write laboratory investigation reports that include the cause of instrument failure, repairs, and impact on data analyzed on instrumentation. + Schedule and oversee third-party technicians on site to perform calibrations and preventative maintenance. + Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager, QA/Metrology. **_About you_** + **Education** : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field required. + **Experience** : 2-3 years of lab experience, which may be covered academically. + **Professional Skills:** HPLC, GC, IC, ICP, AA, UV preferred. + **Role-Specific Competencies** : This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with instrument software such as OpenLab/Chemstation and Chromeleon preferred. Experience with calibration/maintenance software Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager preferred.
