Metrology / Calibration Technician

Description:Responsible for the calibration and repair of all types of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).

Requires sound knowledge of precision measurement methodologies and principles.

Candidate will have responsibility for electrical and dimensional calibrations including, but not limited to; length, force, flow, pressure, mass, torque, temperature, humidity, vibration, voltage, current, resistance, RF power, and frequency.

Must have complete understanding of measurement traceability and be competent interpreting and converting specifications.

Must be familiar with metrological quality requirements and have the ability to create detailed electronic records of work performed.

Must be capable of performing component level troubleshooting and repair. Must be familiar with laboratory safety requirements.

Ability to interpret specifications and/or drawings.

An understanding of measurement traceability.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with the use of precision measuring principles, theories and units of measure International System of Units (SI Units).

Experience interpreting and applying calibration procedures, guidelines, and standards, without requiring overly detailed, step-by-step instructions

Experience as a calibration technician actually performing calibration/repair of test & measurement equipment.

Experience with laboratory safety and quality practices.
Desired Skills:
Computer proficiency, advanced math skills, advanced training in specific measurement disciplines.

Inspecting, adjusting, and testing torque tools and standards.

Experience in Temperature & Humidity discipline.

Experience in Physical/Dimensional discipline.

Formal military PMEL/TMDE or industry training preferred but not required.

Experience with IndySoft / Gage Insite Calibration Management software.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
