Metrology - Technical SME

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Technical SME of Metrology to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The Technical SME for Metrology is responsible for supporting all technical aspects of activities related to Metrology.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Technical SME - Metrology:

Works directly with the internal teams to give technical guidance Provides feedback on designs and drawings for manufacturability, measurement, and specification compliance Identifies opportunities for process improvement in both manufacturing, inspection, and design standards Champions quality standards Manages internal procedures and metrology qualifications Manages and communicates changes to best practices and standards across the company Assist with bid support, manufacturing, and inspection plans Identifies areas of improvement for the metrology team and manages initiatives to completion Proactive about seeking and exploring new technologies Challenges convention to foster innovative thinking Provides guidance on industry standards, including, but not limited to ASME Y14.5 Reviews and ensures internal standards and customer requirements are being followed Interacts frequently with shop floor to ensure project health; may have daily presence on shop floor Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job Performs other duties as assigned

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required. Education may be substituted with equivalent industry experience Demonstrated leadership capabilities Experience with SAP ERP software is advantageous Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software is required Experience working with composites, in a lean manufacturing environment or working with complex aircraft assemblies is a plus Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.  Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Salary range for this role is between $85,000 and $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
