BNSF’s Marketing team serves as a primary contact for all BNSF customers, working to make the shipping experience as easy and seamless as possible. From onboarding new customers to handling rate and service requests to answering billing questions, the Marketing team is focused on building strong customer relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the shipping process. The team is organized into several critical business units to cater to diverse customer needs and industry demands: Agriculture and Energy, Consumer Products, and Industrial products, alongside specialized units for Customer Support, Forecasting, and Planning. Each of these units plays a role in tailoring our marketing strategies and services to meet the unique requirements of our wide-ranging customer base, ensuring a comprehensive and responsive approach to customer service and engagement.

 

This is a full-time  remote position to be based in Mexico. 

 

Travel as needed in Mexico and eventually in the US and Canada.

 

Key responsibilities may include: 

Manage and grow existing business with customers for assigned sales region.

 

Expand current customer portfolio, developing new customers with a primary focus on converting over the raod business (OTR) to intermodal via BNSF contracted carrier partners.

 

Achieve volume growth goals using a self-developed annual territory sales plan.

 

Work closely with BNSF’s US Consumer Products / Intermodal Solutions and Industrial Products teams to identify and develop leads to generate new business and opportunities by sharing information via Salesforce to work in a coordinated way from both sides of the border.

 

Work closely with our carriers to help them convert highway freight to intermodal by assisting them with leads, customer visits, training, border issues and start up assistance.

 

Build and maintain relationships at all levels with customers and rail partners in Mexico and the US. Our intermodal customer base includes both BCO’s (Beneficial Cargo Owners) and intermodal carriers.

 

Develop strategies and implement new programs and product offerings for the Mexico market, working across functional areas that include Operations, Service Design and Performance, Business Unit Operations, Customer Support, as well as Mexican authorities and railroads.

 

Represent BNSF effectively at Conferences, Conventions, and other events, and before Authorities and other organizations.

 

The position requires strong teamwork and communication skills and the ability to form, develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships at all levels. 

 

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years' experience in Sales.  Advanced degree and over 10 years of experience a plus.Experience in Marketing, Operations, Transportation/Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management highly desirable. General understanding of Intermodal servicesGeneral understanding of Mexico transportation infrastructure and processes for NAFTA shipments.General understanding of the North American rail network a plusStrong strategic and problem-solving skills and capabilities.A quantitative orientation and understanding of business concepts, marketing strategies and logistics/distribution in Mexico.Bilingual skills required; fluent verbally and in writing in English and Spanish.
