Job Summary

The primary focus of this position is supporting in-house cable construction and field operations teams, including in the negotiation and preparation of contracts and other legal documents, and collaborating with other in-house business units to support the deployment of advanced broadband services. Works with in-house clients and senior legal team to develop and establish legislation, regulations and company policies. Advises senior in-house attorneys and internal business units on legal matters and monitors company compliance with applicable laws and regulations.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Gather relevant related information and draft, analyze, negotiate, and prepare legal documents, as assigned or as necessary with direction from senior attorneysProvide guidance and assistance to internal clientsAssist senior attorneys in supporting various business units by assessing legal risks and providing legal solutions to business issuesResearch and draft summaries of legal issuesMeet with business clients and third partiesAdvise management on legal matters and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsAdvise business units on matters related to applicable laws, Charter policies, statutes, regulations, and/or proposed legislation relevant to the area of businessInterpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to the Company’s business practices and for corporate entities in generalManage claims and lawsuits involving the CompanyNegotiate and draft business agreementsCoordinate and manage outside counsel as requiredWork with senior attorneys to proactively identify and address key legal issues for management and in-house clientsProvide ongoing monitoring of applicable laws, regulations, and policiesProactively grow and maintain network for potential partnership opportunitiesMay lead and direct the work of paralegals and administrative personnelPerform other duties as requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationKnowledge and understanding of corporate lawAbility to provide information and ideas in a compelling manner both written and verballyDemonstrated analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated team and relationship-building skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Required Education

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school Admission to State Bar in which Attorney practices

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years

Experience in general business legal issues - 1+
