Overall Job Summary

The Mgr, MHE & Automation Engineering is a critical position that drives functional design and innovation throughout the distribution network by realizing equipment and process enhancements to achieve higher throughput of volume, drive cost savings and improve SLA. This position will play a key role in implementing these strategies across the distribution network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology. Guide DCs to focus on areas critical to supply chain success. Provides support and direction and acts as subject matter expert for the systems, tools and processes of a Distribution operational area. Participates in the design, development training and implementation of new systems and related processes. Develop Long Range Plan and roadmap of automation and technology for fulfillment design, including defining trigger points for next level automation and emerging technology. Manage and lead piloting and roadmap build for scale of material handling systems that enable capacity and productivity improvements. Provide direct and indirect leadership to cross functional teams across the company. Use of big data analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, etc. for assessing opportunities and formulating solutions. Responsible for developing financial modeling for business cases related to process improvement, MHE, and automation. Subject matter expert and resource for DC engineering and automation. Support other projects within engineering such as labor management, process improvement, slotting, and other engineering functions as the need arises. Ability to negotiate and manage outside vendors and strategic partners against deliverables. Strong presentation skills: Ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences. Strong project management skills including the ability to effectively manage engineering resources to deliver a high-quality design solution within budgeted time. Required Qualifications

Experience: 6 years minimum of relevant experience with Supply Chain operations, in particular experience adapting MHE technologies to existing supply chains.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered. 

Professional Certifications: LSSGB, LSSBB, APICS, CSCP, AutoCAD, or SOLIDWORKS

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities Problem solving, communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience is desirable Strong analytic abilities required to turn mass data into project insights; Expert-level skills required with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Power Point and AutoCAD; Must have working knowledge of relational database, such as MS Access or SQL Ability to write and enforce policies and procedures. Ability to work overtime and travel up to 40%
